Last night the main Eurovision song contest roared at Hartwall Arena. We went to
see the Finnish act from big screens at Senaatintori. Crowd had really a good feeling around, no disturbances or something like that.

Later to our local pub to see rest of the show and the results. Eurovision has really turned itself into East. Just how long will UK, France and Germany shovel money to the show just to find their acts to find themselves at the last position?

But back to our pub. Our bartender lost his bet. See the results.. :)

On the road again

I just love these days.

Wakeup call at 04:40, catch a bus at 05:48, catch a train at 06:22.

Lecture @ Seinäjoki 10:40.

This could sound like a graveyard job, but I really like to be on the road.
I have written most of my best lecture slides sitting in a train.

And waiting for the bus in the morning allows an experience that is a rare at a big city:

one can hear birds singing..

Wappu - something really finnish

Today it is May 1st - or Vappu (Wappu in student circles). As a MSc student I felt the odd party feeling on a day before. But I was at ease - we visited Simo & Piritta and Kerttu, ate well and tasted some sparking stuff. Today we had our own outing at the rocks near Linnanmäki - strawberries and even some more sparkling stuff.

Weatherwise very windy, but that is the usual style in southern Finland at this time of year. Pictures - maybe something later this evening.
